Macquarie University Induction
Business and Community Engagement
Beyond our local community of students and staff, there is a local, national and international community of alumni, friends, businesses and professional partners that the University interacts with, influences and is influenced by.
We aim to give back to the community through projects and activities with various business and community groups.
Business Engagement
Our engagement with businesses, especially those contained in the adjacent high-technology corridor, is driven by our vision of becoming one of Australia's leading research universities.
For more information on our engagement with business existing partnerships and projects, such as the Macquarie University and Cochlear Partnership, visit the Business page.
Community Engagement
Macquarie University is a member of the Australian Universities Community Engagement Alliance, which is an organisation committed to fostering university-community collaboration, innovation and knowledge exchange.
Examples of our engagement with the community include research collaboration, sponsorship of art and cultural events, seminars, interaction with schools and use of University facilities.
Macquarie University’s Enterprise Agreement also includes two days of volunteering leave for all fixed-term and continuing professional staff members to increase our capacity to make a positive impact in the community.
