Campus Map
The Campus Map is a great reference tool for you, as you familiarise yourself with the layout of our campus. The building names are mostly oriented around E for East, C for Central and W for West parts of the campus. For example the Campus Hub is building C10A, in the Central part of the campus. Remember this and it will help you stay oriented as you familiarise yourself with the University.
Facilities
There are lots of facilities and services on campus that are available to staff as well as students. A snapshot of some of the main facilities, and the building they are located in (refer campus map) is provided below.
Banking | NAB Branch: under the Co-Op Bookshop on Level 0, C9A. CBA ATM: opposite the NAB Branch, Level 0, C9A RediTeller ATM: Near the pharmacy and the entrance to the Campus Hub, C10 |
The Spot | Provides postal and fax services, stamps, envelopes, locker hire, dry cleaning and academic dress hire, Level 1 C10 (opposite The Shop) |
The Shop | Supplies stationary, magazines, newspapers, calling cards, merchandise, food and beverages, Level 1 C9A |
Co-Op Bookshop | Provides textbooks, general books and software, at a discounted price for members, Level 1 C9A |
Pharmacy | Provides general pharmacy services, including prescriptions, Level 1 C9A near The Shop |
Sport & Aquatic Centre (MUSAC) | Is the one-stop sport and fitness hub that can fulfil your every active need, regardless of age or fitness level, W10A |
Campus Hub | Located in the heart of the campus and contains many food, beverage and retail outlets, C10A |
Staff Café | An on-campus café that caters exclusively for staff, located on Level 3 W5A |
Campus Wellbeing | Provides support and assistance to students and staff, through delivery of medical and health services |
Macquarie University Hospital | As the first and only private hospital on a university campus, the Macquarie University hospital combines state-of-the-art technologies, superb patient facilities and a commitment to high quality health care. |
Macquarie Centre | A major shopping centre and is a quick walk from the campus away, on the corner of Herring and Waterloo Roads (near the train station) |
Security
Macquarie University security can be contact 24 hours, 7 days a week. Security assist with lost property, access cards and after hours escort vehicle (during University term). They can be contacted via phone on 9850 7112 or internal extension 7112.
The main Security Office, marked by an illuminated "Information" sign is located in Building C1A on Macquarie Drive.
Emergency Procedures
Emergencies are situations where you would normally contact the national 000 number. In an emergency, security can be contacted from any help phone, lift phone or by visiting the security office in Macquarie Drive. Should the police, ambulance or fire departments be required, Security Services will liaise directly with them.
Fire and Safety Information
Maps of Evacuation Assembly points indicating the location of the nearest assembly area are located in all campus buildings, classrooms, lecture theatres and also near building exits. Please take time to familiarise yourself with the emergency procedures and assembly points.
Emergency Evacuation Procedures
An emergency will generally be notified by the building's fire detection system, security or one of the Wardens.
In the event you are required to evacuate the building you should
- Not panic
- Follow all instructions provided by the Wardens
- Take personal belongings with you (but only if safe to do so)
- Leave the building by the nearest, safe exit
- Proceed to the designated assembly point
- Notify Wardens of the location of any people who may be still in the building, are injured or have a disability
- Await instructions from the Wardens
